Meet the Managers
John Daryn, FCCA
John has been with Spain Brothers since 1997, joining the firm as Audit Manager having previously worked with three other local firms. He is a Senior Manager within the firm’s Technical Department and has responsibility for managing and reviewing audits and accounts. He also has expertise and experience in respect of charity accounting.
Away from the office John is a keen cricketer turning out regularly for a local team and especially enjoys travelling and reading.

Gill Parker, ACA
Gill joined the firm in 1996 as a junior accounts clerk passing her AAT exams in 1998 and then qualifying as an ACA in 2001.
She is now a Senior Manager within the firm’s Audit Department with specialist knowledge of the audit and accounts in respect of solicitors and pension funds. Gill is also a key part of the firm’s Technical Department with regard to the setting and maintaining of the firm’s internal controls and technical standards.
Away from the office Gill is a keen amateur gardener and enjoys travel especially to Western Australia visiting her family there.

Mark Greenwood, ACA
Mark joined Spain Brothers in 2003 as a student after graduating with an Economic & Social History Degree at the University of Leicester. He qualified as an ACA in 2008 and is now one of the managers in the firm’s Regulated Clients Department with responsibility for audit and accounts of limited companies and charities.
Mark’s two young children keep him busy away from the office and he is also a governor of a local primary school.
Steven Wanstall, FCCA, MAAT
Steven started his career with Reeves & Neylan in 1995 passing his AAT in 1999 and becoming a MAAT in 2000. He qualified as an ACCA in 2005 when he joined the firm as an Audit and Accounts Senior. Steven is now a manager in the firm’s Business Services Department with particular specialisms in the charity sector, haulage industry and motor trade.
Steven is married with a young son and is also a scout troop assistant in Sholden and Chairman of the Deal, Walmer, Sandwich & District Scout Council.
Craig Scandrett, ACA
After graduating from Southampton University with a First in Physics, Craig started his accountancy career with another locally based firm and qualified as an ACA in 2008. He joined Spain Brothers in 2009 in his present role of Audit and Accounts Manager.
Craig has responsibility for the accounts and audits of a range of clients in various industries and sectors as well as offering them tax and business advice tailored to the individual client. He is also heavily involved in the management of the firm’s IT resources.
Craig is married with one young child and enjoys golf, swimming and cycling as well as being an active member of a local theatre group.
